Adobe Creative Suite CS5: Beta Testing Photoshop

I have been a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals for a number of years now so when the offer came out that members could apply to beta test the Photoshop CS5 I jumped all over it. The first version I used in depth was Photoshop 5.0, so I was very excited to get the opportunity to try out the new version before it was release. I submitted my information to NAPP/Adobe and received an email with instructions to participate in the beta testing. For the last month I have been playing around with the exciting new features and have enjoyed the added functionality. You might wonder what these are, but you’ll have to wait until tomorrow when Adobe releases Creative Suite 5. I am looking forward to integrating the workflow and new tools into my day-to-day work with CS5.

The Conversation Prism – A great visual for inbound marketing

Wow, what a crazy semester! To kill two birds with one stone, I am putting together a presentation on inbound marketing for my New Media Design class. We have spent most of the semester on designing and developing for websites and online media now it is time to focus on how users find our content. The presentation takes a look at a couple ways of having content findable, 1. Using Social Media and 2. SEO.

The first is a constantly moving target with changes made daily. The short of it for me is honesty + transparency + responsibility = valuable relationships for marketers. Using these tools to interactive and engage audiences will result in a better connection between company and audience. The trust forming relationship is an ongoing process. The Conversation Prism: The art of learning, listening and sharing provides a great chart to visualize this process.

Students are well aware how social networks work, but using them in a professional setting creates interesting conversations. Some like personalized messages and others think it is creepy. Creating these relationships is built on trust that must be maintained in such a personalized space. New media creates these opportunities and holds companies responsible for their actions. This is an exciting time to be in the communications field.
